Teaching Practice Sessions (20 Hours)

During the 20 hours of face-to-face or virtual sessions, you will practice planning lessons, creating digital teaching materials, developing animated video tutorials, utilizing learning management systems, assessing and tracking your students’ progress. You will teach real students while being observed by a highly qualified TESOL expert. You will receive detailed feedback on your teaching skills, lesson plans and teaching materials.

What will you Learn and Practice?

1. Planning Lessons for Traditional and Online Classes

In this session, you will practice how to plan and deliver engaging grammar, vocabulary and skills lessons for both traditional and online classes. You will also be introduced to the best practices for converting your courses from face-to-face into blended ones.

2. Using Online Tools in Creating Interactive Teaching Materials

In this session, you will learn how to utilize different online tools in creating engaging e-learning content and digitized teaching materials. You will also learn how to create online games and team competitions.

3. Guided Teaching Practice

In this session you will teach real students and receive feedback on your lesson plan, teaching materials and classroom management. You will also observe and evaluate other teachers' lessons while guided by a highly qualified TESOL expert.

4. Creating Animated Video Tutorials

You will learn in this session how to utilize video-creating apps (like Vyond) to create three styles of animated videos that would engage your students and help you simplify complicated concepts and enhance knowledge retention.

5. Managing Traditional and Virtual Classes

This session will focus on the most effective strategies for using online teaching platforms, managing students in traditional and virtual classes, addressing discipline issues and facilitating teacher-learner, learner-learner and learner-content interaction.

6. Using Learning Management Systems (LMS) Effectively

In this session, you will learn how to make the best use of Learning Management Systems in designing teaching materials, creating a community of learners and tracking student progress.

7. Feedback and Error Correction Techniques

In this session, you will learn and practice how to provide constructive feedback, how to correct students’ speaking and writing errors, and how to create teaching materials to address specific errors. You will also learn how to create surveys and course evaluations. 

8. Job Hunting, Interviewing Strategies & Continued Professional Development

This session will guide you through the steps for planning your English teaching career path. It will help you get perfectly prepared for job interviews and teaching demos. You will also identify various formal and informal tools for continued professional development.

Are the sessions face-to-face or Online?

All the sessions are delivered online using Zoom. Face-to-face training sessions are currently available in Canada, US, Armenia, Spain and Egypt.

How many sessions should I attend?

You should attend the 8 sessions to get your certificate.

Will I teach real students?

Yes, you will teach real students and get feedback on your lesson plans, teaching materials and classroom management.

What are the deliverables I should submit to pass this course?

First Week Deliverables:

  1. A lesson plan
  2. A pair or group activity, designed for a specific group of learners 
  3. Digitized teaching material for grammar, vocabulary or skills practice
  4. A video tutorial using video creation tools

Second Week Deliverables:

  1. Rubric for assessing oral production
  2. An error correction code for writing errors
  3. A course evaluation
  4. Formative assessment questions
  5. A course and quiz using an LMS
  6. A gradebook or reporting function in an LMS.

Is this training included in premier TESOL qualifications?

Yes, all the premier qualifications (level 3 certificates and level 5 diplomas include 20 hours of guided teaching practice.

What are the certificates I will receive after passing this course?

If you are taking this training as part of a premier TESOL certificate or diploma, the extra 20 hours will be included in your certificate/transcript. If you enroll in this course only, you will receive a certificate issued by TEFL Wonderland. The certificate includes a QR code and verification number.

Can I reschedule my training after booking?
