The Wonderland English Bee (WEB) Olympiad is a global English language competition designed for students aged 6 to 19, with the goal of promoting language proficiency and fostering cross-cultural connections. With a comprehensive focus on grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening, and writing skills, the WEB Olympiad provides an enriching learning journey that combines academic growth with competitive excitement.

Participants have the chance to showcase their skills in two exciting rounds: the International Qualifiers and the Global Finals. This competition allows young learners to earn prestigious awards and access unique educational opportunities, setting them on a path toward language mastery and global recognition.

Categories

The WEB Olympiad is divided into six age-appropriate and skill-targeted levels, ensuring that each student competes within a category suited to their grade and English proficiency:

• WEB One Category: Grade 1-2 (Beginners/A1-A2 Young Learners) 
• WEB Two Category: Grade 3-4 (Elementary Level/A1-A2)
• WEB Three Category: Grade 5-6 (Pre-Intermediate Level/B1) 
• WEB Four Category: Grade 7-8 (Intermediate/B2) 
• WEB Five Category: Grade 9-10 (Advanced/C1) 
• WEB Six Category: Grade 11-12 (Proficient/C2) 

Placement Test & Preparation Course:

This package includes a placement test and an interactive 100-hour preparation course, designed to strengthen grammar and vocabulary through engaging games, animated videos, and interactive activities that make learning enjoyable.

Competition Rounds

International Qualifiers: May-June 2025

The journey begins with the International Qualifiers, conducted online via an auto-proctored exam. This round assesses a wide range of language skills through an engaging format:

• Focus Areas: Grammar and vocabulary
• Exam Format: Multiple-choice questions, matching, fill-in-the-blanks, rewriting tasks, and short-answer questions
• Duration: 30-60 minutes, depending on the student’s category level.

All students will receive a participation certificate, with top performers earning special recognition:

• Gold Medal Certificate: Top 10%
• Silver Medal Certificate: Next 10%
• Bronze Medal Certificate: Following 10%

Medalists qualify to advance to the Global Finals in Hurghada, Egypt, in October 2025.

Global Finals: October 2025 – Hurghada, Egypt

The Global Finals offer top-performing students from the International Qualifiers a unique opportunity to learn, have fun, and make new friends from around the world. Set in the stunning city of Hurghada on the Red Sea, this event combines challenging exams with interactive activities and exciting excursions. Participants will not only showcase their language skills but also enjoy an unforgettable experience filled with cultural exchange, personal growth, and the chance to form lasting friendships. The event concludes with a grand award ceremony, celebrating the achievements of every young language enthusiast.

• Focus Areas: Grammar, vocabulary, listening, reading and writing.
• Exam Format: Paper-based exams (Multiple-choice, matching, fill-in-the-blanks, short-answer questions and writing tasks)
• Duration: 45-90 minutes, depending on the student’s category level.
• Registration Fee: $550, covering:
  • Full-board accommodation at a luxury resort on the Red Sea.
  • The final examination.
  • Access to student activities and excursions.
  • Participation in the final award ceremony.

Awards and Prizes of Global Finals:

• Cash Prizes: The top student in each category will receive a rewarding cash prize.
• Niagara Falls STEM & Leadership Camp: The top three students in each category will be awarded a 15% discount on the Wonderland Niagara Falls STEM & Leadership Camp in Canada. All finalists will receive 10% discount on the camp registration fees.
• Medals and Participation Certificates: Every finalist is recognized with a medal and certificate for their achievement.
• Teacher Awards: To honor educators, the teachers of winning students receive 50% discount on TESOL Qualifications (Ofqual-regulated).
